Every doorway and window (except invisible windows) will have a trim that wraps around them. This trim is controlled by the each wall face the object is in. If the object lacks its own trim the each wall face will extend the trim into the width of the wall by 50%. There is no way to disable wall trim on doors and windows (except invisible windows) but the trim can be made invisible on a per wall face basis.
- Optional: Force the wall to segment around the door/window. Do this by adding invisible lines to the wall, wherever the invisible lines intersect the wall a separate segment is made. Each wall segment can have its individual properties adjusted so that hiding trim can be done for only part of a longer wall. The following image shows how a single wall was segmented so the center section could have its properties changed without effecting the other wall segments Hiding wall trim.
- Select the wall (or wall face) and set the properties as follows:
- Material
- Internal (or external or both as appropriate for the wall face)
- Base properties : Optional but recommended since advanced photo settings are only reflected for photo rendering. By setting these the 3D view will reflect a close approximation of the desired look.
- Type : Glass
- Texture : None
- Color : White
- Photo Advanced properties : Setting these will cause the trim to vanish. If only the Base properties are set then the trim will still appear during some renderings since it has depth and glass will reflect/refract light.
- LiW Category : Leave blank
- LiW Name : Invisible
- Lum Category : Leave blank
- Lum Name : Leave blank
The trim for all doors and windows in this wall segment face will now effectively vanish. Remember that if only one wall face is done then the trim on the other wall face will wrap into the door / window frame to 50% of the wall width.
